Apron Delivered

I gave DSIL her apron yesterday. It didn't fit as well as I would have liked, but she was thrilled with it. I don't have a lot of opportunity to get to her house to measure her and because she is in constant pain it's almost impossible for her to stand more than a minute or so at a time. Next one will have some modifications for better fit. She was really happy that I put 2 good size pockets on it. She likes to have a place to keep her phone and any other little thing she wants with her. I a;so gave her a new can opener. She's been opening cans with a beer can opener. She's legally blind and I was so worried she get cut on a sharp point. She says that's the nurse in me. Juno

Fabulous, Juno! How about several different sized pockets? Maybe you could get measurements on her phone, etc. and custom design each pocket to handle whatever...

How wonderful for both of you, Juno! You made something your DSIL will enjoy a long time. And as Beverly wrote, maybe, next time, adding a few different-size pockets for necessities will be great, too.

Thanks for the idea of different size pockets. I think she'll like that. I was just so pleased to see her big smile. She's a great person. Even though she's always in pain and can't see much, she knits hats for new born babies all the time. Yesterday she had 15 of them ready to be delivered. She also had a great sense of humor and laughs at herself whenever she see's something she did as silly. Juno

You're such a good caretaker of all of yours. :) I'm so glad she was tickled with it. I was pretty sure she would be. Those were both very thoughtful gifts to give her.

Thank you for the kind words Sharon. I am a firm believer in paying things up.People have always treated me well and I feel I must do the same. If we don't do for others I think we're in sad shape. I can't change the world, won't try to, but at least I can try to make the world around me just a tiny bit better. Juno

I agree with you 100%! If I have some thing or some skill that can help or ease someone around me, I do it. And it's usually the really simple stuff that's most needed and appreciated.

Just got an email from DSIL. She had Spaghetti and meatballs Monday night for dinner. Was wearing a white blouse and it's still white. Mission accomplished!!! jUNO

I'd need to be in head to toe protective gear for that... or just wear black!
