barkcloth?

What does one make with barkcloth? (I mean cotton barkcloth, not the genuine stuff.) I've seen some for sale that I love the patterns on, but can't figure out what I'd do with it.

We used to have drapes of barkcloth. I have seen some slipcovers made with it, too. Barkcloth is sort of a 1940s thing, to me, anyway.

Drapes/curtains. Pillows. Slipcovers. Hawaiian-cut shirts. Summer dress, maybe? (just throwing out some ideas. I've got some with a small pattern on that I used to make a summer overshirt.)

First thing I thought of was pillows - but the second was a big funky tote bag. Love that idea - it could be a simple style but with a cool pattern, lots of fun!

Years ago I made a barkcloth vest; can't recall where I got the fabric but loved the pattern on it and the colors. Lined it with lawn, I think.
