Best Boxer Elastic?

I want to make some boxers for my DH, cotton, not stretchy though. I don't want the elastic to be uncomfortable so I am wondering what is the best kind to use.

I don't need a pattern, I can just use a pair he owns and copy them, thats easy enough.

TIA!

Hi Michelle,

Well, I don't know the "best" type of elastic, but I can tell you what I use.. I use the best grade of Ban-Roll type elastic I can find. I also make certain to use at least 1 inch wide (wider if I can get it). Remember, you are making undershorts for men, not lingerie, so you don't need "dainty" elastic.

Ban-Roll is very important if the man has any type of "spare-tire". (I tried to get away without this once, and did I ever hear about it! I wound up ripping the cheaper elastic out, and replacing it with Ban-Roll.)

Wider elastic is simply more comfortable for most any man to wear.

If the man is sensitive, you may want to modify your pattern and encase the elastic so that he only has cotton touching his skin.

This should make better undershorts than you can purchase RTW.
