Bithday cake (It's chocolate, so not really OT at all! ;) )

It's the GMNT's birthday today. He's 15. Yikes! Where did the time go?

Anyway, I shall have to stop stitching eyelets in these corsets and go and buy eggs and butter, so I can make cake. He wants a Buche de Noel, a la Nigella's Feasts!

I'd better get on...

Happy Birthday, GMNT! My DM always said, "Time flies when you're having fun."

DS has a birthday Saturday, and I'm also wondering where the past 55+ years have gone.

Congratulations to the GMNT for reaching another milestone, and to his mother for surviving his journey. ;-) My baby will be 31 the end of November, and it doesn't seem possible. I'm reasonably sure I'm no older than 29 myself........

Thank you.

Inside I feel 16... On the outside I'm *supposed* to be 52, but I don't look in the mirror too closely!

Thank you.

He had us galloping round town looking for dark green string/garden twine (the natural stuff, not the bright shiny polyprop stuff!) and gloves... He's camping somewhere tomorrow night and needs to be able to string up a cammoflaged bivvi! Can't have the string giving you away!

Mirrors lie. They're better if you give them a coating of hairspray, though. A thick coating....

Can I use olive oil spray? I haven't owned ahirspray in over 30 years...

Absolutely! In a pinch, you can use Vaseline.

It's good on camera lenses, too, though most photographers prefer to put it on a filter so it's easier to clean off.

Great! I have plenty of that, for the sewing machines, you know...

Indeed.

Gets you out of the pinch, too.

My darling girl, the one who decided to come early, wishes James a very happy birthday and said she wanted to send some of cake to him (she turns 6 tomorrow, if you can believe that!). I had to tell her that I didn't think it would survive the trans-Atlantic trip, so she said she'd eat a second piece for him...lol.

A very happy birthday to sweet James!

Happy Birthday James!

I hope (am sure) the cake was good and appreciated by all, especially your GMNT and that he liked his birthday string :^)

Tell her thank you, it's much appreciated. :D

I'll pass that on. His dimples are just as cute as when he was her age, but now attracting lasses of his own generation rather than the grannies! ;)
