Calling Pfaff 147x owners!

Hi

I'm the proud owner of a new-to-me Pfaff 1471 which appears to be functional in every respect except the low-bobbin-thread light.

Can anyone tell me whether the little lens in the bobbin cover is a lamp that should light, or a sensor? There's a matching lens buried behind the shuttle race. I'm assuming one's a light and the other's a sensor. The one at the front is in a transistor-type package; the one at the back may be too, but I haven't delved t hat far yet.

If anyone can shed any light (ugh) on the matter (including where, in the UK, I could order bits like these), I'd be grateful.

It's a sensor, and the lens may just need to be cleaned. Carefully. With a Q-tip (or cotton bud on a stick, depending on your country) and a drop of alcohol.

This may sound dumb, but I have seen it. Be sure your using the plastic bobbins. The sensors can't see through the metal ones.
