Coat pattern?

Last week we watched "3:10 to Yuma", the new version with Christian Bale and Russell Crowe. My daughter is in love with Ben Foster's coat and has asked me to try to copy it for her.

Has anyone seen a pattern for something similar or am I doomed to try to draft this myself? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

you might try suitability patterns. they make patterns for riding- both english and western. if i'm not mistaken, one of the views for one of the western jackets was similar.

Looks fairly close in lines to a Civil War era coat. Try this one and see what you think:

only shows a front view, and in the picture the coat is open. But I thinkyou can get where you want to go from there. I didn't find anything closein the cowboy sites (and there are just as many cowboy reenactors as CWreenactors so there are plenty of sewing patterns out there.) Here's another that has some of what you want

McCall's pattern is pretty close to the pictures. What you will have todo is leave the skirt off the front and alter the collar. But that's alldoable.

I haven't worked with any of the McCall's CW patterns. So I can't tell you anything about accuracy, etc. I checked the Simplicity ones (which are actually pretty darn good believe it or not --- it's the designer they had do them) but they don't have what you are looking for.

Good luck!!

I'm definitely going to do a first draft in denim or something similar before I go cutting on any leather. She wants it in a brown smooth or tumbled finish, which should be gorgeous, and easier to keep clean than the cream color of the original. I came across this piece, and though it would be less than practical (brushed finish and non-basic color) it still made me drool:
