Consequences

Hi group, This time I am in trouble. As you all may well recall about 6 weeks ago the big to do with Ladell Curtis. Seams (pun intended) she was successful in her vengeance. While I was quite prepared to accept the public humiliation of her broadcasting our private email conversation across the web her contacting Singer and complaining was, I thought a bit over the top. She was apparently successful as I have received a letter of termination from Singer. Apparently they, without a chance to explain or even talk about it, are willing to side with one single person and not even consider that I handle 2000-2500 emails every month and this was an isolated incident. I consider this a bit unfair as it did not involve Singer products in any way. If any of you would like to voice your opinions to Singer in support of either of us there is a link below to contact Singer.

Hey Ron, I went to google, then sent the following. I still don't like that language, but fair is fair, so I sent this and hope it helps ... barring my misspelling!

Ron, I have sent the following to Singer: I am writing because of your decision to terminate you contract with Ron Anderson over a dispute with an email customer. Ron has been a great source of information for those of us who post on alt.sewing. He has also been a reliable source for parts. I feel that it's unfair to terminate his contract without hearing his side of the story in regard to one customer. If you value dependable service people you owe Ron and his customers a chance for him to defend himself. He made an error in judgment in his use of less then desirable language but should be given a second chance to continue to be of service to those who use Singer machines HTH, Juno

Sent the following: "Please reconsider the termination of Ron Anderson's Singer contract. Ron is an invaluable participant in the online sewing newsgroups, and a source of hard-to-find parts for sewing machines. Ron's frustration in dealing with a very rude and unreasonable e-mail customer resulted in his use of vulgar language, but in my experience dealing with him over several years, that was an anomaly. Ron is usually full of good information and always courteous.

I own SIX Singer machines."

rely on the Internet for my 30 or 40 Singer machines. One person on whom I have relied is Ron Anderson of A1 Sewing Machine, Sand Lake, NY. Now I hear that you have terminated his Singer contract based on the ravings of one customer, to whom Ron was a bit rude I'll admit. However, this customer required the patience of Job - few of us would ever qualify.

and tell Ron that he must bite his tongue in future.

helpful dealer in my experience.

What a bunch of F*ckTards (sorry for my language)

I sent this:

It has come to my attention that you have terminated your contract with Ron Anderson, revoking his right to be a certified repair person of Singer Sewing Machines. I understand this decision is based on a single customers complaint.

Please review this decision at your earliest convenience. There is no reason to terminate this contract based on one persons unfortunate experience as Ron handles multiple customer accounts and this is an isolated incident.

I own two Singer Sewing Machines and I would prefer to have Ron send me the parts I need or service the machines. I have sent him many emails and corresponded over alt.sewing over the last three years, and each time he has been an invaluable source of information, advice and service.

I would like to point out that there are many people who are unhappy with this decision because you did not give Ron a chance to defend himself. He can be contacted at:

Ron Anderson A1 Sewing Machine PO Box 60, Sand Lake, NY 12153

518-469-5133

I hope this matter will be clarified in the near future. If you have any questions or require a reference for Ron please do not hesitate to contact me at *email address* or alternatively by phone at * (snipped).

Sincerely,

Michelle Giordano

Hopefully they will come to their senses soon. If anyone wants to write but can't think of what to say feel free to use any part of my letter. I will admit its not my best letter (passed business communications with flying colors if I may brag a bit) but its 8 in the morning and I haven't had my coffee/breakfast yet. This was too important for me to wait on it. If this doesn't work in about a week or so we should all start a petition or do another emailing round.

Dear Ron,

I wrote, too. I hope everyone does. We haven't seen the person on the boards since she was scolded.

Maybe others did the same thing as me; blocked all messages from her address, and she may be too embarrassed to "show her face again." I also sent Singer a note as well as one to Ron, asking him to please stay with the group. Singer may take away his dealership, but they can not take his expertise. Emily

There is still support here for you as witnessed by the response. I doubt that a monster thread is going to be easy to avoid. I for one have dealt with customers just as unreasonable, and have not had my authorization terminated. Both of us had the chance to voice opinions and it was resolved amicably. Curtis did not even give you a chance in my opinion and I wonder how far the Vendetta will extend an to what other companies. While the language was a knee jerk reaction and should have been seen as such, this has devolved into a vendetta on her part. She will get no respect for these actions from the majority of the sewing community. My letter has been sent in your defense both by Email and will be snail mailed tomorrow, and I do hope you stay with us here and on the other groups.

Ron, Since you know she is doing this to you for one company she might do it to others you represent. It would probably be a good idea to short circuit her (possible) plans. Write a very respectful and apologetic letter to all other companies you represent. Be totally upfront. Tell them the plain truth. Apologize again. Assure them that, in the future, you will be the utmost gentleman with even the most irritating customer. Yeah, I know, it's really a b**** to have to capitulate especially when the other person was being a real B**** and probably deserved every syllable....but, you do want your business, right?

Yeah, hurts me too. I hate apologizing when things like this occur. AK in PA

Dear Ron,

I just received a response from Singer. It says that termination is not based upon one complaint. I beg to differ! I wish you well, and really hope Singer reconsiders its decision. I also hope that you continue to visit this board with all of your valued help and info.
