Couldn't see the keyboard 'till

"Bout to get a permanent crick in my neck, craning my head to peer at the monitor. By a fortuituous accident, (knocked my fibocals askew), I discovered that if I set the nosepiece on the bridge of my nose, I could see the monitor perfectly. It's like getting new sight. Fortunately, I don't have to look at myself in a mirror as I sit here. The downside, after properly adjusting my glasses, is reeling about like I'm drunk for 5 or 6 minutes while my eyes and brain get realigned. Crick in my neck, black eye after running into a door edge...decisions, decisions. Maybe the addition of a bicycle helmet would reduce hazards. Anyway, this seems doable while I'm sewing, too. I was having tremendous problems trying to focus on close work. Let me know if this works for you. Maybe I could patent it. ;) Cea

When I first got my bifocals, I had the same problem.. I just went down to (evil) WalMart, went to their eyeglass store, picked out the cheapest, ugly frames I could find, and had them make up a regular, single vision pair of my "near" prescription (using the cheapest lenses). This has been a lifesaver for me, and I keep these glasses for the computer & sewing only. (The whole thing was under $50.00 US, and it was worth every penny)

Heavens, Cea, is there anywhere *else* to wear one's specs other than the end of one's nose? There they are perfectly poised for one to give The Look over the top in that severe manner that has sewing machines, bits of cloth' cats, classrooms full of 17 YO refisniks, husbands, and other household appliances and inanimate objects scuttling to line up and Do As They Are Told!

Actually, if I shove mine up to where they are *supposed* to be,

A: They promptly slide down again as my nose isn't built to hold up any specs known to opticians, and

B: I end up peering out UNDER them and tripping over things like cats, the lad's shoes, and other stuff that creeps out and lies in wait for me...
