crud!!!

Well, looks like I'm going to have to take my embroidery machine to the shop. :( It won't pick up the bobbin thread. The bobbin thread pulls up but it won't lock the threads together. *sigh* I did all the stuff, I vacuumed, I put in a new needle, I completely rethreaded (about a dozen times, just sure that THIS time it would work lol) And after all that, I still have nada.

Cross your fingers!!! Sharon

Crud is right, Sharon. How dare your embroidery machine be difficult. I hope you get it straightened out soon, without having to take it to the doctor. I know nothing about embroidery machines so I can only offer encouragement. Juno

Aaarrgghhh! I hope yours is a simple repair,

I was in the midst of happily embroidering the 40th pillowcase yesterday, when I started hearing a squeak in the area of the flywheel. Oh dear! Not wanting to damage my machine, I immediately stopped my project, went into the menu, and checked the "odometer": 3,300,000 stitches! I was supposed to have taken it in for routine lube and cleaning at 3,000,000 (there is absolutely NO owner instructions in the manual for routine oiling). Called the local shop where I bought the machine and asked them if they could do a rush job, they said they could have it done by Friday. More fingers crossed, please!!!

So today I'll work on my taxes... Ugh!

Sewing is definatley more fun than taxes, especially when you're on a schedule to get the sewing done. I hope you get your baby back very soon. Juno

Truer words were never spoke!

Thanks. The service guy thought it just needed TLC, I'm hoping a bushing or bearing doesn't need replacing, that would probably take a looooong time.

Best of luck to both your ladies, Sharon and Beverly, on the embroidery machines. Emily

Thanks! The service guy just called, he said it was a "little dry", and there were some miscellaneous threads caught in the upper thread path, but otherwise it seems to be just fine. Woo Hoo!!!

HOWEVER, he told me he cannot make the endless bobbin work. :-( It has been working just fine, so I suspect he just doesn't know how to thread it. I'm going to take in the bobbin-threading gizmo tomorrow and test it myself in the shop. If all goes well I may be back in business tomorrow afternoon.

AND I made good progress on my tax return today, so I'm doing the happy dance.

Sharon how is it going with your machine?

I picked up my machine this AM, the service guy was very nice, ran it in ahead of another (non-rush) job, and reduced the charge from "sewing machine service" to "computerized machine" service because I had told him yesterday that I never used it for sewing, it's always set up to embroider. On top of that, I had a recent $20 off coupon from them, so it turned out quite inexpensive. YAY!!! I will be keeping a closer eye on the stitch odometer from now on.

He did point out to me that the tiny finger which auto-threads the needle was slightly bent (I had noticed for a while that it took a few tries to get it threaded), he said it happens 'a lot'. He will order the part and call me when it comes in.

Best of luck with yours,

Oh, phooey! Well I hope your repair/service goes smoothly, it doesn't require parts, and you get it back humming like new!

Waaaaaa!!!!! I spoke to soon. I did taxes all day yesterday, so I didn't set up the machine. Today I set up to finish off the design I was working on when I noticed the squeaking, and discovered that the auto-thread-re-winder wasn't working. The picto/icon never even came up on the screen. :-( So I flew back over to the shop, the service guy and I tried everything short of standing on our heads, still no re-winder.

This isn't critical, I can remove thread cones and rewind them by hand but it was a really nifty feature. He is going to "call Singer in Kentucky" Monday with a description of the problem and see what it will take to fix it.

I brought the machine back home so I can keep working on the pillowcases, I sure hope the problem is not the motherboard or something EXPENSIVE!

&*%$#@!!!

DS is an accountant, so I haven't done my taxes since he was in college; I don't think I can remember how anymore, so I feel very fortunate that he does them and I just sign on the 'dotted line'.

I did all the personal tax returns for DH and me from the time we were first married, and continue to do my personal returns, Fed and State.

And for several years I generated the 1065 return for the family investment partnership, I was the managing partner. We had a CPA do the partnership return the first year after forming the partnership, then I reverse-engineered the return so that I would understand it, and make it possible for me to do them for all the years that followed. I maintained the books and sent out the Schedule K-1 forms to the partners.

Refrigerator , of course. Slapping self in forehead, how could I forget the bread machine. Mine gets used at least 2x's a week. Yesterday I was looking at a recipe to make jam in the bread machine. Sounded interesting. I can live without a microwave and coffeemaker that grinds the bean. I have my handy little coffee grinder, that's all I need for my coffee machine. Juno

One year I received two of those wooden coffee grinders from a DD and and my SIL. When I told SIL, she asked if she could have hers back; it was strange for her to make that request, so I gave it back immediately.

About a month later, she returned it to me. Surprise, she had gotten a friend of hers to turn it into a very pretty lamp. This was over 40-years ago and the lamp sits on a table in the dining room.
