Someone has asked me to put some side hems on some voile curtains they had
made at the shop.  The shop left them raw and they are very badly cut  up to
3" out from top to bottom. I usually overlock and turn in a hem do you think
this would do in this case the voile is very fine.

Why not do a rolled hem?

Re: curtains
Thanks would have to work something out with the bottom as they did not have
enough material for a double hem they did like a rolled hem with lead weight
tape, the top is slotted casing.

Do you have a beading foot for the serger?  If so, unpick a couple of
inches of the lead tape and roll the sides, then just stitch the lead
tape back on after wards...
