DONE!

Well all the machine embroidery is done, I still have to iron and fold them.

I just finished embroidering the last one. DSIL welded the wobble on my sturdy old ironing board, and I picked it up this evening. I bought a new cover (it really needs it) at JoAnn's today with a 50% off coupon, so I'm set to go.

I learned when I called the clerk's recording at 6:00 tonight, that I have to go to the court tomorrow at 1:00PM for voir dir, but even if I'm selected for the jury, I probably have a couple of days to get them ironed.

Whew! Never again...

Now I can get my DS's Xmas gift finished. And work on Ursula's DD's design. Then do four unique quilt squares for my DSIL, DB, DD and me to give to my niece for a treasure quilt for her new(ish) baby. Then I think I'll take me off to the beach for a few days of R&R. :-}

Well, let's put it this way: Next time DD asks me if I would be willing to embroider some stuff to donate to a worthy cause, before I say "sure", I'll ask first "how many???" :-}

I love doing machine embroidery, but after about the 60th iteration of the same design it gets a little booooring....

You only think you do. ;-> Well maybe you really do after all....

Have a fabulous time. It will be at least a couple more weeks before I can break free, and that is contingent upon whether or not I get seated on the jury.

It's always a good feeling when a project is finished. And a short beach vacation is in order as soon as the jury duty is finished. Emily

Thanks and I hope you can go soon. The beach is so great for relaxing.

Decide what your max capacity is, then if it comes up again, farm it out. There are lots of stay-at-home moms with embroidery machines who would love to pick up a few dollars stitching out designs for a bit of pocket money. Especially these days.

A visit to the beach is a great idea. Take a few good, mindless books, a few bottles of wine. The Oregon coast is almost always a good place to sit by a fire in the fireplace, relax, read, and sip. Interspersed with long walks on the beach, picking up shells and bits of driftwood.

Y'know, I USED to why my mother didn't go crazy making *two* of everything, which meant four set-in sleeves, and two of everything else (for twin daughters) for each new outfit. And even after I began sewing a lot for myself, I always wished I could snap my fingers and automagically have the second sleeve or pants leg finish itself. That is not so much the case anymore, I like doing exacting work, and doing it well. But 144....??? Not so much.

That's a thought, I could even set up here since I have two machines now. :-D Problem is I almost always do originally digitized or heavily edited designs, so I would have to convert for other's machines formats if I farm out work.

Then again, I really don't expect to be asked to do such a big run again. DGD has dropped competitive Highland Dancing from her overloaded schedule. So, unless I'm asked to do badges for band uniforms or something... Aaaargh!

Yep, I have the perfect spot, my cousin's beach house has a lovely fireplace, comfy sofas, fully equipped kitchen, and Ming loves running on the beach. Now all I have to do is load up the iPad with more books. But unless someone comes along, I'll leave the wine home, I don't like to drink alone. Unless Ming counts? :->

Which is either tonight...or not. I have to call after

6:00PM to find out if I was selected.

Xed fingers.

In this case, Ming counts. Wine is a different sort of thing, anyway. It's a food, taken with meals, and from time to time as a refresher. I don't recommend more than a glass or two taken at one sitting, and do not consider that "drinking alone." I, of course, am such a heavy drinker that I sometimes go through an entire bottle in a month or two.

Thanks, I'll let Ming know he's promoted (or is that demoted?) to humanhood. ;-) I have some tequila that's older than I...

Oh!! And you forgot that a glass of red wine a day is very good for your heart. I think it's good for my children's health too......it keeps me from strangling them. ;)

I really like a certain merlot, and I bought a few cases for the wedding in '04, but I wish I could find the same one in splits. By the time I get half-way done with a bottle (and that might take me 2-3 months, my kids no longer live here) it turns to vinegar. :-(

Good for adding to casseroles and spaghetti bolognese when I can't drink it all. Claire in Montréal France.

Well sure, that's a good alternative, but I'd rather have it in small-enough quantities that I can drink it before it turns....

Maybe you're concerned enough for your heart to drink 2 or 3 glasses a day??? ;)

I know what you mean. I hate to waste something yummy. :(

That might be good for my heart, my waistline would not thank me.

DH and I used to have a glass of wine once a week or so, but now unless I can find smaller bottles I just limit my wine intake to when I go out to restaurants.
