Dye

Bought some fabric on eBay that was advertised as a dark green. It looked perfect and the price was irressistable. Get it today and its more of a teal. It is polyester. Last I knew man made fibres don't take dye well.

Anyone have any newer information? Or does anyone want some teal knit?

Could you overdye it with black? Teal is a nice colour but you obviously have something to match a dark green. Bummer when photos are a different colour.

No artificial fabric dyes well as a home dye, but if there's anything that will do it, Dharma will know about it. ttp://

Dear AK,

Sorry, but polyester can't be dyed at home. This fabric is dyed with a process known as dope dyeing; the pellets of the intended fiber are colored before the fiber is ever extruded and made into yarns. Anything you use on it, except for fabric paint, will wash out.

Hi. One of my DGDs is addicted to teal and might be able to use something in a poly knit come fall. Is it jersery or interlock? (I prefer sewing an interlock.) What is the width & yardage? Is it a nice quality? What do you want for it? What was the item number? (I might be able to get a look at it if I search the number.)
