Dyeing Nylon Simplex?

Hi Friends,

The Fairy Bra-Mother is back!

Wacky health stories to any who are interested. But my reason for posting is to ask if anyone has any idea what I'm doing wrong. I'm dyeing some 100% nylon simplex a.k.a. matte tricot to sew a bra for

48J and the color is not taking. I'm using RIT dye in cocoa brown and it's doing great on the elastics which are also nylon. But the simplex is turning out medium grey. If I didn't know better I'd say this was polyester! The texture and weight are correct for simplex so I'm pretty boggled. I finally get back to my favorite pasttime and can't even get out of the gate, boo hoo.

Dear Pora,

I used to use RIT dye successfully on nylon; however, I used double the amount on dark colors. It sounds like the tricot is polyester rather than nylon.
