Fabric Scraps

Hi Guys, After reading the thread about the fleece scraps, I started to wonder if anyone has ever posted here about Jill Pochick who makes blankies for shelter animals. She might already post here but I haven't seen her so I will just add my tuppence :-). Jill takes any & all fabric scraps regardless of size, shape, fiber content, color, design etc. Even itty bitty fabric scraps are good since she can use them to stuff the animal toys she also makes. This is a really good use for those fabrics we all have in our stash that are just plain ugly! I'm talking about the stuff (like old double knit poly) that we know should likely go in the trash but we can't part with. Jill posts over at RCTN so I know there are a bunch of folks here who are familiar with her. Her website is

you can get her e-mail addy there and she will send you her snail mail addy. She also needs any leftover batting (any fiber content is OK) and also fiber-fil for those toys. She can use basting spray, too but that's a bit tricky to ship. Oh, thread is also a good thing to send -- again any color as long as it's not really old and breaks easily. Needless to say, if you send her fabric stuff AND if you felt like it, you could include a "green gift" (that's what we call money gifts) which she will use to purchase batting, basting spray, etc. OH YEAH -- she also collects the UPC labels from packages of Hobbs Batting. She uses them when she buys batting and Hobbs gives her a deal on the cost of batting. With it getting colder I know she's going to be really busy making those blankies for all the critters in her local shelters.
