Fabric site

I stumbled on this site today when I was looking for a new bathrobe pattern for me. The fabrics are pricey but may have something someone is looking for.

What type of robe pattern are you looking for? I have a couple my aunt's collection. If there is one you can use, I'll be happy to send it to you. Emily

Very cool site! I think it was Robb who was looking for less expensive non-wool tartan a while back, here's some poly/cotton blend:

Thanks for the offer Emily. I prefer a robe that zippers most of the way down the front and has a closed seam down the rest of the way. I also need one that plus size. I did find some instructions for adapting a TEE shirt or sweat shirt pattern into a robe.

would just put a zip in instead. I can use my click and sew patterns to make it.I had been thinking of doing that for awhile and the instructions just re-enforced my thinking.Juno

That looks remarkably like the MacGregor tartan. One of them, anyway.

As I recall, Robb was looking for Royal Stewart Black(?), but maybe this one will do for a "practice kilt".

It appears that it would make a very nice summer-weight kilt.

I'm not so sure he will want it. They have a 15 yard minimum on the plaid/tartans. Juno

But it's only 45" wide, so he'll need 8 yards for *one* kilt. He can always use the extra to make tiny kilts for the rug-rats.... ;-)

Scarves. Matching scarves for the whole fam-dambly. They're easier than kilts.

LOL! And you know this because.... ???

That's the only type robe I wear; calf-length in summer and ankle-length in winter. Someone gave me a red velour one from Dillard's about 15-years ago. It fit so well, I cut it apart and made myself a pattern when it became too threadbare. Emily

I have a wrap robe now and don't like it. My legs are never covered enough and I get cold. I like long robes year round. When we are on the Cape I take showers outside in a little shower room we built and like to walk back to the house fully covered. Juno

Thanks Beverly,

Yes i was/am. I have bookmarked that site.

That project was put on hold fo a while as it was becoming more of an advanced project with lining and underlining etc. So, i was waiting to finish a few simpler projects before i tackled that one again.

thanks, robb

yes, the stewart black or green.

and that one in the link looks close enough for practice especially at that price.

You're welcome. And yes, a few simpler projects would be a good idea before tackling a kilt... ;-}

The price per yard is excellent, but the minimum...?

You would need 8 yards of that width for a proper kilt. Just think of all the cute jumpers, skirts, jackets, scarves you could make for your little one from the excess. ;->
