Beverly, That's a bummer. DH and I are both very conscious of yellow lights and the fact that many people run them. I think they take the attitude that it doesn't apply to them. In NYS you are supposed to stop when the light turns yellow, the runners think it's not for them and drequently end up going through the red. Good that the sheriff's car was right there. I hope you don't have any aches and pains from the bump. Juno
Thanks so much Beverly, except that I have used it quite a few times. Just not recently. For the stuff that I still have, why would I need pictures? The other stuff that I don't have, left the premises without being immortalized in pixels. Some was listed on eBay, thought I might still have a picture or two, but they're all gone.
They have installed quite a few red-light-cameras here, and I think it has helped. But too many people think green means "go", yellow means "go faster", and red means "ah what the heck, I can make it".
If I can stop safely when a light turns yellow, I stop. Yesterday, several cars made it through on the green, one or two on the yellow, and I stopped. The driver told me she thought "you were going to scoot through", so I suppose she was on the gas, not the brake. I glanced in the rear view mirror as I came to a stop, and I really thought she was going to be able to stop in time. I wasn't braced for it when she hit me. My head bounced off the head restraint pretty hard. I'm very glad the restraints are required now. :-)
I have some aches, and a headache. I have to take the car over to the repair shop tomorrow, if I'm not feeling better in the morning I'll call for an appointment to have things checked out.
I absolutely, positively adore artichokes, as do my children. When they were younger and getting "Easter Baskets" they had to get fresh artichokes in them. That was more important than any candy. Juno
