Finished for Birthday

I just finished up another pair of shorts for my GD's birthday tomorrow! That will be 2 set of shorts and tops, plus a few purchased gifts. She has only been in the family 5 months and sewing for her has been a real treat for me! She is 9 yr. old and helps me by sorting and picking out my fabric and thread colors for the next project to work on. I'm so happy to have her in the family! Barbara in SC

Thanks Betsey! Tinsie is a dear girl and we are taking her to Disney World this next week. This will be her first time to go to Disney. I want to teach her to swim while we are on vacation. We are all excited! Barbara in SC

Shorts and tops for a 9 year-old sounds like great fun. Have you played with the chenille technique to put a fuzzy bee on for trim? How about some mini pom pom fringe? For more fun, buy a yard of Michael Miller's glow in the dark fabric and make her a pillowcase. There's just nothing much sweeter than a 9 year-old girl ( or boy). They're housebroken, can't drive and just so appreciative. Polly

Son, wife, & my grand daughter got here around 1:00 and she really like the clothes I had for her. We all went to a buffet for lunch, came home to cut the cake, and then invited 2 little girls who live in different houses in back of us, to come over and play in the little kiddie wadding pool I have for my small dog. They were all here for 6 hours and we loved every minute. Now to start sewing on school clothes! Barbara in SC

I know you are excited about having a DGD, and I'm certain the feelings are mutual. Your trip to Disney World will be a wonderful, fun time, and don't forget that the season tickets are much more economical than just daily ones. Emily

Did you get photos to post on some web site like Sharon uses, or some other one? I'd like to see her when she opened the gifts.
