first attempt at swimsuit, any suggestions

Hi first of all.... I am a long time reader, but I seldom post since I am so new to sewing. I am wanting to make myself a swimsuit. I have purchased a pattern Kwik Sew #2690 view A, the fabric, swimsuit elastic, and lining. I have also purchased 2 spools of wooly nylon. I am interested in any advice for sewing this. I have a serger and a sewing machine. Thanks Sandy

I have sewn two swimsuits this summer. Believe it or not the swimsuit fabric was easy to work with. If your not sure about stitching something use long stitches first because it will be easier to rip out if you make a mistake. Then you can go back over it with a tighter stitch. I found it quite rewarding to sew swimsuits and I hope you do too.

Thanks for the encouragement! I have yet to cut out the fabric. It is one of those kind of projects that has me thinking "Oh, it is not going to be hard" and then on the other hand " are you sure you can do this". I have made plenty of clothes for children and myself. It has been mostly knits, twill and some cottons. I made a dress back in March in Satin that was a learning experience. After I was done, I thought it was not too difficult and I did learn alot, but it took me weeks to get up the courage to cut it out. I had lots of help from Kate. I think I will attempt tomorrow, but I have been saying that for the past 3 days. I always find something else that is more important. Sandy
