I'm looking for solid color fleece fabric - sold by the yard -  that is
about 85% to 95% nylon fleece, and the remainder spandex (to make the fabric
stretch well during use).    Can anyone recommend a site that has good
quality fleece fabric with these characteristics?

The best quality fleece made, IMHO is Polartec by Malden
Mills,  they make one version with Lycra:

You're welcome, I think you'll like Malden Mills' products.

And another hint, if ever you are looking for Polartec® 200
($11.99/yard) you'll find the same product in limited colors
in their "Blankets and Throws" section
http://www.milldirecttextiles.com/throws.asp
for the equivalent of $8.00/yard in 2.25 yard lengths.  Same
stuff, just less expensive, and they cut generously.  AND
free shipping!  ;-)

Thank you SO much for posting this Beverly.  About two years ago, when
silkweight was available only in black or white, I bought two yards of
black and made a pair of tee shirts.  I love them, even in this sticky
climate they stay cool and comfortable, and do not lose their shape or
color.  I wished so hard that it was in other colors, but......

And now I see that they have brought the other colors back.  Yippee.
Once I have made up at least some of the fabrics I ordered a month ago,
I shall buy some in colors.  (I really don't like to have a stash, it
always stares at me making me feel guilty).

Link?  I don't see anything called "silkweight" at
milldirecttextiles.com,  sounds intriguing.

Thanks!  I'm not in love with any of the present colors, but
I'll keep checking back.

Malden Mills Outlet
<http://www.milldirecttextiles.com/dept2.asp?dept=15&id=09201937242478221252826
has PowerStretch in a limited range of colors.

Many outdoor/active wear suppliers, like Peak Fabrics
<http://www.peakfabrics.com/ and RockyWoods
<http://www.rockywoods.com/ will carry PowerStretch or similar
fabrics from other manufacturers.

Rose City Textiles http://rosecitytextiles.com/ is another good source for
fleece, including Malden Mills.
