going crazy

because I just realized that I have less than 19 days before I welcome Rebekah to the world!!

But that was this morning when I was at the grocery store.

Last night, I got nearly everything doen on pajamas for DS for Christmas (family tradition), and finished the waistband and shirt hem this morning. Tonight, I am hoping to get a raggedy corduroy quilt bound and finished off. I'm on a roll here!!! LOL

DH is thinking og taking a "Ferris Bueller" day tomorrow, which would be nice. He only wants to get the yard cut, but he has said that he will help me get some things done that I can't do on my own. I still need to get the "guest" room aka Rebekah's room cleaned up and things moved where I think they will be best, but I can't do heavy lifting anymore.

I have made a list for DH of things that I would welcome for Christmas or my birthday, so that is one thing he doesn't need to pester me about . There are only 5 things listed, and I told him to pick something from the list....I know what he will most likely pick based on things we have said.....like a second OTT light for the bedroom to help combat depression for me, and new pots and pans that we both want because we are using the really cheap ones that we bought while living in a hotel (when we first moved here and had no house).

Hmm, not sure what else there is to write.....trying to figur eout how to mend a pair of pants...think I need to take out the entire zipper and replace it, but have never done it before..scary.

Well, off for now..............

If those pregnancy hormones that kick up the full speed ahead nesting activity could be manufactured it would probably put the meth dealers out of business. As I read your post I remembered back to cleaning, filling up my freezer with baked goods and casseroles, and cleaning, finishing up every little undone project I could find, and cleaning, sewing curtains and new pillows, and cleaning, ironing and mending everything I could lay my hands on, and cleaning, painting the kitchen, and cleaning.........I'm an old broad now and I am happy to say that after many years of hard work I have been able to stifle almost all of these impulses ;-)

Good luck, Larisa! Val

Thanks for the laugh, Val! I can sure identify--both with that manic cleaning and organizing thing, and to stifling the impulse!! Karen Maslowski in Cincinnati

I remember that period myself. The last couple of weeks, I was rearranging the living room, washing everything in the house that I could find, cutting out post-pregnancy outfits (I found some of those projects in a storage tub a few weeks ago-DD is 7 2/3 yo now-and I might get around to making them ), and stocking the freezer and pantry.

Amazing what we do in the last few restless weeks-I guess it's our hormones telling us to do it now because we won't have time later :-)

Thanks KAren...now I'm just constantly exhausted..but have been told that is normal. I have been taking more rest periods and reading than I have been doing things around the house.

thanks. The major cleaning got done last weekend. All that I feel

*needs* to be done is to take down and wash the curtains in the baby's room (never mind that the baby will be in our room for the first few months), and furniture moving, which I can't do.

Haven't done any cooking yet....Mom and Dad said that they would help out in that area, but i may just break down and buy pre-made things and stash them in teh freezer.

LOL!!!! As another old broad (well, too old to be getting pregnant), I too have learned to curb these impulses. I'm a little ashamed to admit that when I sew for my boys now, I sometimes make things 1 or 2 sizes too big, so that when they turn into UFO's (as they invariably do nowdays) and I finally get around to finishing them, they fit!

Wait...I do this already!! I make DS's pants a size too big just so that I can get him to wear them for more than a month...the pajamas that I just finished for him are actually a size to large for both the shirt and the pants....
