Hooray!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Congrats! Wish mother, baby and family all the best!
Get out that "heirloom" sewing book and get started on lots of nice things for next Spring!

Congratulations! Girls are alot of fun to sew for (I know, I have 4).
Kirsten
Congratulations! I have two (now adult) daughters I love sewing for, and one granddaughter, so I know how much fun you're going to be having. Pace yourself...;-)
Beverly
Big congratulations to you!!
What does that mean?

Congratulations. I love grandchildren. I have 9 , 6 are girls, but I do lots of sewing for the boys too. They just want different kinds of things. Juno
In my experience, you'll want to do *dozens* of things RIGHT AWAY: layette, bassinette cover, blankets, diaper covers, car-carrier cover, frilly little dresses, buntings, sweaters, booties, ....
But you may be more restrained, so maybe my advice is unneeded? Perhaps you can maintain a one-a-week schedule. ;-)

Congratulations!! I have 3 DGDs, ages 21, 19 and 8; they are such fun. Emily
I'm likely to have only this one. It hasn't been openly discussed with me but I've caught the hints of possible problems. Don't ask me what.
Thanks, AK in PA
Why weren't our children this much fun?? AK in PA
That's okay if there is only one, you can dote even more on that one. Numbers don't count. Love does. Juno
Ahem! Mine were.
Beverly, who adores her DGC, too
Congratulations on having the one, then.
Funny how things work out. I LOVED babies and children when I was young, and wanted a houseful. We were very fortunate to (finally) have two healthy daughters, and I have only two grandchildren. My sister, who was always indifferent to babies, had four children and now has fifteen(!) grandchildren, including 5 steps.

Oops, In my earlier post, I forgot to say I have 3 DGSs as well, ages 21,
18, and 16. I am no longer "allowed" to sew for them, except sometimes I can get away with a pair of pajamas.. It's a "man" thing, I guess that Grammas are not supposed to sew for men. EmilyAre you the same "Beth in Alaska" who just adopted Oliver-now-Pirate? If so, small world. I have hung out here for at least a decade but just recently made a foray onto rec.pets.dogs.behavior.
