got the costumes for the girl and I at the thrift store. ;) She went forGoth, I was told I couldn't get there from here so I just went for kindacreepy. lol They said I managed to pull that one off. ;) The other littlegirl is our neighbor up the street. She's just about my third child. ;)So of course we had to take her along with us to trick or treat at the mall.Had a blast.

DS was Thrilled to pieces with his hakama. You might be able to tell that from some of the pictures. lol BTW the first pictures of him are out on the Deck DH spent the summer building. (I'm not allowed to refer to it as a deck must be Deck. lol)

Hey Sharon, Love the costumes. They have gotten so big! Your daughter looks almost grown! Nice costumes. Love the Deck, what state do you live in that you have so much space behind your house?

Thank you so much! She is 2" taller than me now. lol Not that being 2" taller than me takes a whole lot, but..... lol You know what I mean. ;) And the rotten thing rubs it in all the time too! Stinker.

We're in Arkansas. The lot isn't terribly wide, but it is long. The back third of our lot, which is outside the fence, goes downhill about 45*. Great for that one good snow we got last year. ;) We had everyone sledding down our hill!! The really awesome part of where our house is has more to do with our neighbors' property than ours. ;) They own the 12 acres behind us. Almost all of it, except where their house was built, is bottom land in a flood plane. That means it can never be developed. They plan to stay in that house forever and not sell the property. (which is wonderful, we have Incredible neighbors all around!!) The really lucky part for us is that we won't ever have a subdivision back there. We will always have most of that view, and it has been just gorgeous the last couple weeks as the trees turned. :) We took one look at that view out the back, and that really sold us on this house. Last Fall, watching the leaves turn through the living room window, we knew for sure we wanted to put the French doors in and add on the deck. It was just too gorgeous of a view not to maximize it. :) We got very, very lucky when we found this house and I thank my lucky stars for it every day. ;)

Nice photos of beautiful subjects and the Deck with the view is one "to die for". Please tell DH it's perfect. Isn't it a pain when DD is taller than you? I have one of those, too. Emily

Tell your DH for me, your deck is outstanding! Looks like 2X6 cedar? Or did you go for the new composite stuff? We re-built our deck in '91 using 2X6 cedar, and I love the look, hate the maintenance. I think I would opt for one of the composites now.

Thanks, Cea! I'm really lucky at present that boys are still "stupid." I hope that holds out for a while. lol Although, I have to admit to a couple shaky moments. She told me that putting on make up was "fun" and asked could she start doing that every day. *sigh* I'm not quite ready for that!! lol And she did say she'd rather have colors that looked a little less scary. heh heh Suppose I should be happy for small favors. ;)

He really did do an amazing job. :) I'm awfully proud of him and the Deck. ;) I'm also very glad it's done! Now we just have to save pennies to add a hot tub out there. When should I expect you to come out? :)

Thank you, Emily. I will tell him. And yes it is a pain. lol Although, I have to say it's handy too. When we go to the grocery, I don't have to climb on the bottom shelf any more. The boy is still short enough and happy to crawl on the floor so he takes care of diving into the bottom shelf to reach the stuff at the very back. And she can get stuff off the top shelves for me. lol She gets such a kick out of being tall enough to do that she will offer to do it for total strangers. Especially if she sees an elderly lady struggling to reach something. She rushes right in to help. Makes me proud.

But she could quit rubbing it in about me being short...... LOL

I tried faking a nose ring for myself. Both kids said "no Mom." LOL

I will tell him. Thank you very much. :) It's actually just regular old pine treated lumber. He just finished sealing it. The sealer was clear, but it gave the wood that reddish color. I love how the color came out. It was that green that bare treated lumber gets. This is much nicer. We may go with a tint next spring. We thought we would live with this a while and see what it looks like. We did look at the composite stuff. What we could find here locally was not good looking at all. It looked like plastic. Some of the really nice composites actually look like wood. This stuff would have looked like we built the deck out of legos. Not what we were going for. And since it was almost twice the cost.... It would have been a much smaller deck. But I'm with you, if we could have found the really nice looking stuff, for a reasonable price, we would have gone that way. But we didn't want to order the other stuff shipped in without seeing it first. This will be fine. He already had the boy out there helping him with the sealer. So I think we have a paint crew in the works. lol
