Every time I push one into either end of my spools they pop right off. Grrrrrrrr, is this something I am going to have to return or is there a trick to these that is escaping me???

How in the world did you keep them from popping off the spools?????? I push them onto to either and they just pop right off.
I will try to figure that out next week and post anything I have to do differently from what Nancy Zieman advertises. Emily
When I want to use a handi-bob in a spool with a hole that's too big for it, I lay a small patch of thin fabric over the hole and then force the stem of the handi-bob in. The fabric serves as a shim to reduce the size of the hole.
But if the end of the spool is dished, you are out of luck -- the stem can't reach the hole.
