Help! New Janome 4800 QC

Just got it for Christmas and it is having problems,

First off I haven't sewed anything together with it yet, I was only testing out the stitches on cotton fabrics. ( not close to the edge) Then I dropped the dog feet, raised them back up, and I started to have trouble with it eating fabric.... then I noticed that the stitches where not feeding correctly.. the ABS's where not spacing correctly, as the other stitches. Would anyone here have a clue what is wrong with the machine? My dealer will not open back up for a few more days.. and I am just sick..

Sounds like the feed dogs did not come all the way back up....can you try that again? Up and down a couple of times to see if they really click in the UP position?? That is how my machine acts when it is not feeding the material........HTH

I have had a 4800QC for a little over 2 yrs, but that has never happened and I really have no idea what the problem could be. Sorry to hear that you are having any type of problem. I love my machine. It is a great workhorse. I use it nearly everyday - well - not quite, but I have done a lot of quilting work on it and still plan to continue to do so. Is it possible that you have gotten a few pieces of thread caught in the bobbin case or the shuttle or something of that nature? Hope you can get your problem resolved ASAP. It is terrible to have a brand new machine that is "hiccupping". Marlys in Indiana
