Help with Christmas Fleece project, Please

Hi, I'm new here and don't have much time with this project I need help with! I am also new at sewing! But, I am trying to duplicate a Santa toilet lid cover that we had when I was young, I'm 50 now and want to make and give as gift to members of my family. Here is the problem: Fleece! It felt sooooo good, so I got all the colors I needed and started cutting out pattern pieces, planning on glueing most on. But I have to sew the fleece to make the actual cover for the lid, it looks like the fleece is fraying!!!??? What do I need to do to stop this? Also, what kind of glue will work with santa face, hat, eyes, beard ect.....? Please tell me this can be done!? Thanks!

No, it can't!

This is wrong in so many ways. Best solution would be to throw the entire project INTO the toilet and flush.
