hoodie done!

Today is the day she has band practice till late after school. So since I had extra time and I was so close to being done, I finished it. I put the panne velvet around the edge of the hood and the pockets. Then I did a frame around the dragon similar to a Shinto shrine. That's what I was going for anyway. ;)

Sharon, it's a work of art. What a great job you did. She'll love it. Do you think you can keep it hidden from her until Christmas, or will you be itching to give it to her break down. I would find it so hard to wait until Christmas. Juno

Thank you, Juno. :) I hid it at my in-laws' house. lol I wanted to show it to them and I knew I wouldn't have time to wrap it tonight. Once I get them wrapped it's easier to hold onto them till the big day. ;) But you're right, I was itching!!! lol So I had to take it over there and stash it.

Fabulous! You're going to have to put a brick on Anna's head Christmas morning to keep her from floating away. ;-)

You deserve it - it's great!

The other day Spouse moved his chair close to the fire, not knowing that grand daughter's quilted nylon jacket was on the back. The fabric melted in two large patches and we had nothing to match the dull brown. He found some bright red waterproof nylon and cut out the whole panel, inserting the large red slab in its place.

She loved it and this bitterly cold morning has worn it to college, she certainly won't be able to hide in a crowd - but it's nothing like as artistic or beautiful as your dragon!

Thank you.

Oh dear. Sometimes the best creations come out of things like that. ;) Glad he was able to repair the jacket. And now she has a one of a kind. That's always a good thing.

And I'm wondering about making a matching dragon for the upper part of the back panel.

Wonder where I got that idea ...

LOL!!! Good luck with that. Since it's a nylon, you won't be able to use the wonder under. That irons on. But I bet you could use the wash away wonder tape. That's the stuff I use to put in zippers, etc. Bet it would work.

LOL

Thanks, Kirsten.

I know what you mean. Sometimes getting the pictures posted is what takes the longest. lol I just so happened to have the house to myself (kids at school DH at work) while I was working on it. So I went for it. :) The in process pictures were pretty easy. I just kept the camera in the sewing room with me and snapped one or two whenever I came to a good stopping point. Then I got so excited with how it was coming out, and I was worried when I first started the thing, I HAD to share them with y'all. There's just some things that no one outside my sewing buddies "gets." lol

Thanks again.
