Horsehair braid - advice needed

I ordered some horsehair braid to use in my wedding dress (which is still at the toile stage and I get married in 5 weeks!). Anyway, the pattern specified 2.5cm wide and its arrived and is 3.5 cm wide. The construction means it can't be trimmed. Can I use it as is - I know from the toile that there's plenty of excess length.

The pattern is this one:

A).

(I'm using forest green silk dupion with the centre panel in an old gold/bronxe dupion with gold metallic embroidery. I'm not applying the decorative braid.) I might still do the sleeves from View B (without the fur) - I haven't decided yet.

TIA

Emma

I think you can use it. If you are only using it for the hem it will not make a difference. If Kate is about she will know for sure. Sun

I do bridal alterations, and have seen anywhere from 1/4 inch wide to 4 inch wide in the hems. So I don't think it will make any difference. I've also seen it stitched near to the edge, then turned up very little, and I've seen up to an inch turned up. Just do the math. Sandy
