How do you sell old sewing machines?

I'm trying to sell an old Jones sowing machine that is just taking up space. Where's the best place to try to sell it in the UK?

It's currently on eBay, but has had no takers so far:

Not sure about the UK, but the last 4 used industrial machines my wife and I have purchased were just through a local newspaper. We looked a lot on ebay but were never thrilled about buying because we couldn't try them first and generally the shipping cost were out of this world because of the size and weight. YMMV- Scott

Whether you did it on purpose or not, this was a very tricky way to post an ad on this newsgroup without appearing to post an ad. This is Some people will realize that, others won't.

This is a discussion only group, please post your ad on marketplace groups, such as rec.crafts.textiles.marketplace or rec.crafts.textiles.misc

Local paper, notice on bulletin boards at F-stores, yard sale, consignment at a sewing machine store. If you have a local on-line bulletin board, try there. Yahoo has a classified section that's somewhat useful. Or pass along to relative/offspring, which is how my sisters and I acquired our machines. Good luck! HTH
