How much should I expect to pay to get suit sleeves tailored

Hi, I have a Hugo Boss suit jacket that I'd like to have the sleeves shortened. What should I expect to pay when I start looking for a tailor? Is it best/saftest to have it done at a Hugo Boss store?

Thanks for the help,

Tim

Any decent tailor can do it (tailoring is tailoring and Hugo Boss is like the rest). My guy is third generation tailor having learned the trade from his Italian father, who learned in the old country. A local seamstress who "does alterations" would take it on too, but that's no way to treat a mans suit. (Easy, ladies, this isn't meant to be a sexist remark; it's just they have two different types of clientele in my local experience) Expect to pay about $25-$30 here in the midwest. JPBill

Ask those local dressmakers: quite a few of us can also do men's tailoring with the best! ;) And for something like this you might like to try an alterations specialist. I loath and abominate alterations, so I never do this kind of work. I'd rather make the jacket from scratch!

And no matter who's designer label this has on it, if it was off the peg to start with, it's factory made not truly tailored, and any good alterationist will do an invisible job on it.
