huge pants update - cuff construction help?

the huge pants have been slimmed down and the rise cut a bit. I decided to be brave and use the serger and ruin my seam allowances since I figured the huge pants were likely to be unwearable. Currently i have a pair of pants with contrast cuffs that just need a casing and elastic. They will likely be too short if I use the contrast cuff and I'm not happy with the construction of the cuffs-

Cuffs were cut in knit, same width as pants leg. Serged on top, serged to pants leg on bottom, right sides together.

I'd like to somehow attach the cuff to the pants higher up though- - they are sagging inside. What do you suggest to attach them to pants??

And the serged seam connecting the pants and the cuff is sort of "messy". Can I press the fleece and knit?

And finally, I have a serged seam on the cuff that SHOWS. I obviously didn't sew these right. - look at this tutorial :

cuff on there isn't showing the .....OH WAIT. I've got it. She didn't fold the whole contrast in, she hemmed the contrast to itself so its outside on both sides of the pants.
