I'll be on the porch waiting for UPS truck

...just in case you wonder where I am. ;)

OK. I splurged, and got a heckuva deal at the same time.

is doing a Winter Inventory sale. Go look if you haven't already. If you get their emails, you get a link to click on and get your "mystery discount" which can be used on the stuff in the winter inventory sale. So....this is how I explained it to DH "So their prices are lower than most other stores to begin with, then they put it on sale, then I get another 10% off 'cause of my mystery discount.....So I got this stuff for WAY cheaper than I could have anywhere else." lol

OK. I got some of the wool/cashmere blend in "Ebony." For $8.50/yd!!!!! I'm just so excited about that. LOL!!

Yes, I'm going to make a coat. I have some suiting fabric in an aqua color. Not what I would normally wear, but that's going to be my muslin of what I want to do. I've been thinking about this since I did the haori for my BIL. I want to make a coat for myself that is sort of a haori. I've been thinking about modifying it somewhat. Sleeves for one. I want more narrow sleeves. And I want to widen the collar piece so that it can be worn as a hood. (hoods are good things, they muss the hair less than hats.) And I MUST have pockets in a coat. I'm thinking on-seam pockets at the side where the gussets go. I also want to make it longer than a haori ought to be. I want it long like my BIL's haori was on me. :) (I like to keep my butt warm!!) So that many changes calls for a muslin. I think that will keep me busy till the real stuff gets here. :)

That and I have to clean my house. They all took great care of me while I was sick, but....we won't talk about the house. lol It's all right, I'm grateful for the TLC I got while I was sick, I won't complain. :) And that's one more thing to keep me busy so I don't end up walking around the house muttering about where's the UPS truck. LOL

Fess up, Cea. How many minutes did it take before you were at fabric.com to lookeesee? lol I know, I know, "quit enabling!!" If I had a quarter (or better yet a silver dollar!) for every time I heard that..... LOL

---hoping UPS hurries...if I were really bad, I'd hope for a sudden warm snap too....that's when the UPS guy wears shorts. ;)

I'm in Melbourne, Australia and one of our chain stores is having its Summer Clearance sale with plenty of fabrics for $1, $2, $3, and $4 as well as 40% off most things. It took me five minutes to buy nearly 20 metres of fabric and plan to buy twice as much as more.

I held back for EIGHT whole hours, while I was at work , from the time I saw the catalogue to my purchases.

The website if you're interested,

, and of course they have an online store!

You're evil, Sharon!! My mystery coupon was 15% off and I was also looking at those cashmere blends. Drool. But I have NO TIME!! I deleted the fabric.com email so that I wouldn't be tempted and you're here tempting us anyway!!

And it's my state's turn to get free shipping.

I do wish I had a use for Christmas fabric. Perhaps I could buy it as a birthday gift for my sister?

Your lucky to see a catalogue, I'm a VIP customer and they don't email me a catalogue let alone snail mail one.

The last time I looked, they still had some. I don't think it was filed under "winter clearance", though -- better use the search function.

to your list of things to look at. They sell trims, buttons, lace, etc. All really cheep...er...Cheap. What I've gotten from them has been nice quality, so it's just the prices that are cheap. They do sell in bulk. So if you order something, make sure it's something you can use plenty of. :)
