I'm having a severe attack of hats!

Do hats come home to root, like chickens? I seem to have plenty here!

No, I *DON'T* make hats, really - I'm not really a milliner... It's just that people like hats to go with their gowns and costumes, so I do something sort of hatty with the remaining fabric.

Right now I need to make a sort of pillbox hat with 'ears' with bells on, and a nightcap style one for my jester/entertainer, a version of this

for the same lady... And then we also bought this straw one to line and trim...

The ribbon is a rather ordinary blue poly, and the lace is nylon. I think we might donate those bits to the school project box and trim it with something a lot nicer... :DNo, I don't make hats, not really...

I think my friend Megan made that very one! She's not a hat maker either, just a professional costumier, but you can't say no if you want work to continue :-)

She'd love to say NO to what she calls harrybloodypotter costumes after all these years :-) But still, she earns a lot of money!
