imaginary hat pattern

I thought I had it, then I thought I saw it in a back issue of Burda.

There's a picture of a boughten hat but no pattern.

I'd gone through most of what I had in boxes too. Spilled them all over the floor.

The "hats" I have are too grungy looking, and I don't like anything I see for sale.

Is the picture clear enough to get a rough idea of the needed pattern? I am not sure what a boughten hat is, but many hats are simple to make unless they are pressed fiber of some sort. The biggest problem in hat making for me is getting the band size correct for position of wear.

I suspect OP was referring to a "ready to wear (purchased/bought) hat.

If OP posts a link to the picture it would help.

A word I hadn't heard for some time, but when I did, seems like it was always "store-boughten" like it was special. Everyone wanted store-boughten clothes instead of home-made or hand-me-downs.
