interesting day

Since DS is attending Vacation Bible School this week, I thought I would have 3 hours to get things done around here...nope! Turtns out that because he is only 3, I was suppsoed to be working at the church.

Well, today was the first day I worked (in the craft room, what fun!). Since crafts don't start until a little after 10am, I had plenty of time to pin some more lace on teh christening gown. I wasn't at all surprised at the number of people who stopped by to take a look at what i was doing, but I was more than a little shocked at how amazed that I was entering it in the state fair...what's the deal???

Nearly every person at our church knows that i can sew, and sew well at that (not bragging, just what has been said to me), so why did it come as a shock that I was going to enter some of my sewing in the state fair?????

Whatever. I did find out that one of the other ladies helping in the craft room is also pregnant, 3 months behind me, and Ken (that would be DH) suggested that I make a quilt - I was going to offer making flannel crib sheets). If I go with Ken's thought, that means I have 3 quilts to make between now and January 17th: 1 due at the begining of August for the fair, one for a churchschool auction (was asked a few months ago about this one) and one in January.....not sure if I would be able to do this with a new little one AND a toddler....ARGH!!!

And, I still have to cut out some nursing tops so that i can get the patterns in the mail to a woman I promised them to!

Yikes!!!!! but, one wall of the laundry room is completely finished an 2 others have the begining stamp art on them...progress....at this point, I suppose that i should measure it in baby steps...

Wow, Larisa. I don't know how you do it all. It's all I can do to keep up with making the vet scrubs and curtains in exchange for animal care...and those are easy compared to what you're doing!

A quilt really doesn't have to be that hard to make. You can alternate

9-inch solid blocks with 9-inch rail fence blocks and it would go together really fast.

Girl you sound like me except I'm not pregnant. People find out you can sew and well they come out of the wood work wanting something sewn for them. I've got too much going too, But I've put it all on hold for some much needed summer cleaning. Yuck! But It's got to be done. But I'd father be sewing!
