Interesting Pattern!

I have been poking around looking for a pattern to make my DS a fleece cape. She's way too thin, and consequently cold all the time, and loves the white cape/poncho she has. I'd like to replicate it, but I also want it to be a surprise, so I can't just measure the one she has.

However, while I was exploring, I came across this:

interesting! I might just have to buy the pattern to see the "guts".

For DS, I bought some gorgeous plum-colored Malden Mills Polartec 200,

alter it to full length front and back with the sides left open. I'll draw a new line starting about waist level, and gently curving to CF and CB. I may try using the coverstitch for all the edges.

That's absolutely the most unusual design I've ever seen. I would think you would have to be 6 feet tall and weigh 05 pounds to carry it off. Lots of fun though

I probably would not ever make it up. I think it requires someone very tall and very skinny to pull it off. I wish I hadn't missed the JoAnn's Vogue $3.99 sale last week.

I had some MM Polartec "Eggplant" in my stash I thought I might use for DS, but I only ordered 2 yards, and the Blueplum is more her color.

I've been toying with 'wasting' a Vogue freebee coupon on that one, just because... I have to say I do love it, and I have several short bits of tweed in the stash...

I'm still trying to complete the laminated fleece I've been making for Big Sis for several years! Keep getting interrupted by pay jobs and other distractions... I'm using a purple/green laminate with this pattern:

It brings a dinosaur to mind. Perhaps a cartoon dinosaur, with regular scallops down the back.

Dinosaur or an alligator. It's an ugly coat.

??? ;->

I really think it would be a cool coat, minus the scallops. And a really good way to use up scraps...

Thanks, I think. ;-} I may just show it to my DGD, the budding sewist, and see if she would like to make it (with my guidance of course).

I have a pattern for a steg...

Nice, but I need sleeves.

The pattern has sleeves, but it can also be made without them. Interesting pattern. Many, many pieces. Should only be done as a labor of love, but it's a great showpiece for embroidery and trim.
