Interesting, weird, odd?

I am having some difficulty with newsgroup feeds, for some reason several recent messages (mine and others') have not downloaded here, even though I see them on the SewGirls.com archive. I have deleted the entire group and re-subscribed, but still the previous messages are not showing up.

Kate and Emily, thank you for your comments about the dragonflies.

You're welcome. :)

That NG thing happens now and again. Usually clears of I unsubscribe and turn the machine right off. Even better if I remember to clear the cookie cash!

I cleared cookies, ran 'bot and virus scanners, rebooted my computer several times, each time unsubscribing from the newsgroup first, and finally got most of alt.sewing downloaded, but still not a few messages I *know* are supposed to be here. Ah, well, I'm happy just to have you all back! ;-)

FWIW: I've been having a similar problem, esp with Alt.binaries.picture.scenic. A respondent reported that he's been noting certain irregularities with giganews, which is my news source. Running on to three weeks now....

You're welcome, Beverly.

I hope you get your alt. sewing groups set up to receive everything soon. I had a problem a while back and only got it straight by switching to gmail, and have had none since. I know 2 of my DDs also use gmail now for some groups they regularly read.

I use eternal-september.org, and they have been amazingly stable for well over two years. Free and almost perfect spam-blocking. I signed up with them after Comcast dumped the free giganews feed.

It's not a huge issue, but I hate to have people who respond to my messages think I'm ignoring them when I never see either my message or their replies. That's why I looked at sewgirls.com, and saw Kate and Emily had replied.

With any luck at all it's now resolved.

It does seem to be working now, although a few messages have disappeared permanently into the ether. ;-}

I am not a big fan of gmail, so I whitelist certain people (like you) but mostly ignore all others posting through google.

By the way, you'll have to email me your snail-mail address if you really want a "lavender fleece and all teal butterflies". Hmmm, that means I have to buy some butterfly designs, though. ;->
