It Worked!!!---was Removing Red From Fabric

Beth, running through the empty house, screamed: "It worked, it worked, it worked! 1/2 cup of ammonia to the wash cycle, and tossed it in. It worked!" Where do I send the 15 boxes of Godiva chocolates? Where do I send the check? I'll be forever grateful!

Sending Sharon the biggest cyberhug---

Now, that's just plain scary....think of the things we could do. Everyone in well fitted garments, with no stains, and possibly they would even all be well mannered and polite.... ;) And that's just scratching the surface!

--who ***knows*** Karen meant "With ouR combined brainpower" and not "With-ouT combined brainpower..." That would be a whole 'nother thread!! lol

That's wonderful, Beth! Happy you got your yummy yellow back again. Thanks for sharing with us. I'm sure to need this sometime as my sorting gets messed up regularly.

Sharon, didn't you say that a lot of the stain was likely to be nicotine? It's scary to think all that gunk also ends up in people's lungs.

I worked in an office once where one of the other four people was a chain smoker. We had a window washer come in, and when he squeegeed the windows the most repulsive brown stuff ran off. It turned me off smoking forever, on the spot.

But it's nice to know that Biz gets it all out. Hallelujah. Karen Maslowski in Cincinnati

This sounds eerily like the beginning of the movie The Stepford Wives, where all the women were obsessed with neatness and cleaning the house. It came to no good end as far as I remember ;-) jo

The book was worse.

Well, that'll never happen at my house, thank goodness. Sharon

Remake of Stepford Wives will star Bette Mitler (for one) and is supposed to be a comedy. Can you imagine?

Eeww, just saw the trailer at hollywood.com. It will definitely have a happy ending. Nicole Kidman, Glenn Close, Faith Hill, & Bette Midler are in it.

Yes. Gramma was a two-pack-a-dayer, easily. So I know a lot of this was nicotine. It is pretty gross to watch nicotine roll off a window or wall when cleanser hits it.

I couldn't believe how well the Biz did. It was flat amazing. I know what I will be stocking in the laundry room with all my other stuff from now on. :) I figure between it, the bottle of ammonia and the oxyclean, I'll be able to whoop up on almost anything. lol

This stuff is rampant. In Georgia for weeks, apparently. Don't know where I picked it up (Phoenix, AZ, West TX?) but it's *BAD*. Not over it yet and I came down Monday night and it's more than a "little bit upset tummy".

I recommend using anti-bacterial hand wash frequently; you don't want this bug. Jean M.
