Joann's pattern sale

Thanks to anyone who publicized this.

This month they have McCalls, Simplicity and Vogue on sale.

I wonder, do they ever put Burda patterns on sale?

I've never seen them on sale per se.... but maybe I just didn't notice.

I think they are always 30-40% off. I've never seen anything else.

I was there today to pick up Simplicity patterns on sale and also got three Burda patterns. They claim Burda is always 40% off but the full price is a mystery until you check out because the patterns have no prices marked, not does the pattern book! Two patterns cost about $5.50 each and the other $4 and change.

Actually McCalls, Simplicity, Vogue & Burda seem to be 40% off on a permanent basis in Chicago. This is a Joann Superstore with a sewing center that gives sewing lessons and has a lot of patterns. There was only one pattern I wanted that was not available in my size. They have other patterns like Stretch & Sew which appear to be full price.

I've never seen the Bruda on sale at Joann's in central FL. Just as I've never seen the Quick Sew on sale at Hancock's in SC. The QS have a color dot on each pattern and in the front of the pattern book is a chart to let you know what each color dot costs. HTH Barbara in SC

Burda is the same w/ the color dot. There is a code somewhere in the catalogue. Are the days of $.99 pattern sales over?

I'm in SC now and shop at Hancock's. Last month they had 99c Simplicity. The sales ad for this month only shows a % off each pattern company. I didn't get any patterns last month and had hoped to get a few in July. Oh well, maybe the August ads will list 99c patterns. Barbara in SC

Thanks to both of you for the heads up. I now know to look at the colored dots in future.

I did ask an SA who seemed to be attached to the sewing center, but she had no clue and was baffled on the Burda pattern pricing.

The checkout clerk told me she had never seen the Burda patterns >

Burda used to have a color chart, square or triangle, marked on the envelope to indicate the price. I am not sure about today, since that was several years ago. I have never seen them or KWIK-SEW on sale either. Emily

I do believe they are over. IIRC they started the $1.99 pricing for sales a year ago. When I first developed my addiction to the sales, JoAnn rotated the sales every week from one or the other: Simplicity, McCalls, and Butterick, and they were $.99 each, limit 10. Occasionally Vogue would be on sale. Now they generally have the sale every other week, usually for Simplicity, occasionally McCalls, and rarely for Butterick. Even Vogue are on sale more often than Butterick.

For myself I buy plus sizes and have noted that M, B, & V have reduced the number of patterns available for plus sizes.
