I think I like applique because it IS so deentsy and detail oriented. That can be a nice change from zooming five layers of cordura and web under an industrial machine. But I also like the result too.. how can you make something so beautiful out of little scraps of fabric. Lastly, it gives me the perfect outlet for my perfectionistic tendencies...
I'm getting geared up for machine applique #2. I have six boxes of rainbow scraps, sorted by color family ( red, blues, greens, yellows, purples) that I inherited from my quilting MIL and her quilting sister. A stash I didn't have to buy!!! I invented a great light table with a 2x3' sheet of glass that I've been using for hot cutting for years, never thoguht to make a light table out of it before.
