Just Mending, Again

Seems like I always need to hem a pair of my pants and take them up some. That is GREAT because I continue to lose a pound or two! It keeps me busy, as if there isn't enough to do. We have a big Newfundland dog, and a smaller Dauchund that always want attention or for me to get their blankets for them. Because of the tornado the first of December, we are back in SC taking care of the last of cleaning and also shopping for a new patio table to replace the one that was destroyed. Hope everyone is doing well and busy sewing! Barbara in FL but now back in SC

I am so envious! I need to sew! (and lose weight) ;-O

I managed to catch the HORRIBLE influenza bug hitting my area on New Year's Day, ended up in the ER on the 3rd, and am just now finally getting back to some semblance of normal. Still un-trimming my house.

I am taking my two daughters to Swan Lake on Feb 25,

I have a half-finished project I would love to complete for that night.

I'm so sorry you were so ill. The flu is not fun at all

Thanks.

Seriously awful! And I got it spite of having gotten a flu shot in the fall.

What are you complainig about? Of what are you envious? You're mending, too.

OK, that was an old and not so good one, I admit. I failed to catch the news of you sickness via FB for some reason, only had a hint that you hadn't managed to pack away the Christmas decoration on time. You do have a certain, er, proneness to succumb to respiratory organ viruses & Co., don't you? Keep on mending, please, and be for very much longer a pillar of the intern- and usenet's sewing community!

P.S.: Swan Lake sounds delightful... I'd love to go out to some serious cultcha again, too. Take an extra whiff of music and dance for me, will you? ;-)

Hm, yes, well, we all know that they cannot predict exactly which virus will be prevalent in the coming season, they only make what I think is called educated guesses. So it may well happen that they prepare for virus a, make the flu shots accordingly and then virus b or c decides to take a field day. BTDT, too, and swore I'd never get a flu shot again. However, I did, and wasn't really sorry for it. However, it sounds ineresting that in your area a totally different virus has been active. Ah, get well soon, and finish the outfit to outshine both the Black and the White Swan. ;-)

Still pcking up boxes, if you can believe that. I have too much Christmas decor, I am trying to cull this year as I put things away.

I certainly do seem to catch a serious cold and/or flu bug every 18 months or so. I suspect it ties in with the fact that I smoked many years ago. All those assurances that your body returns to normal after quitting? False...

:-)

I was delighted that both my daughters were able to clear a date, I'm looking forward to a girls night out.

I do understand that the flu vaccine is a crap-shoot, they do the best they can, but missed it by a mile this year. It was pretty bad in this area. I get the flu shot every year, hoping for the best.
