Laundry Disaster! Please give suggestions!

DH's ink pen broke in the dryer. The dryer is black, the clothes are black, and I am RED!!! Please tell me there is a better solution than murder.

Do a Google on the maker of the pen, Sharpie, Bic, Papermate, etc........go to their site and they will have info on stain removal or a customer service number. You'll get all the info you need right from them without having to go through a dozen or more "try this" stain removal suggestions.

Here in the UK Stain Devils are good for removing ink - they do a specific one for ball pint pen and lots of other stains.

The inside of the dryer will need scrubbing with something like Ciff cream cleaner.

On the other hand, you could just ditch both the laundry and the dryer and make him pay for new ones... and pay... and pay... ;P

Valkyrie spray painted on a boxcar:

pour rubbing alcohol throught the ink. (been there, done it and it works most of the time)

I've also used hairspray to remove ink. Probably just the alcohol in it that works.

Just so you don't feel you're the only one who ever has faced this type of thing, I'll admit that I inadvertently (really, I swear) let a red item get in with a load of my husband's prized rugby shirts, causing all the 100% white cotton collars to go bright pink. Never did get that out...but I gained a lot of dust rags!

My hubby was most gracious and got many new shirts for Christmas that year!

We can buy a product called 'Run-Away' to remove the dye in cases like this. I think it is made by Dylon.

HTH for next time
