I agree, they are very space-age-cool, but the tension
adjustment is not nearly as reliable as on the 401A.  You
let me know if ever you decide you just HAVE to have one, I
have two spares.  ;-)

I can't send you a Rocketeer because I don't have one, but I do have
cams coming out of my ears if you can get hold of a machine that will
take them.

If you are prepared to send cams, I'd be delighted.  I can wait for the
machine to turn up 'one day'  :)

I found your address in my Rolodex.  So as soon as I can wade into That
Room and dig out a set, they'll wing their way to you.

The 600 is Singer's earliest Touch & sew model, it's not the
Rocketeer, which are the 500/503 models.

They take Singer 'Slant Shank' feet (not the standard low shank
presser feet).

I thought the 500 series was the Rocketeer.  Was the 600 series called
the Rocketeer also?

At any rate, I am going to go try to get on her mailing list.  Sounds
like something I'd be interested in. :)

It is the 500.  Twas a slip of the finger.  It's a good site, she had a
store, closed it, has gone web-based entirely.  She's a real person, and
she gives real service, and she knows what she's talking about.  Also
has some good deals sometimes.  Plus lots of freebies.  I've bought a
lot of different things from her, including a Singer XL6000.
