made a fleece vest

In the midst of everything else going on, I managed to make a fleece vest for my 11-yr. old from some polar fleece I bought (by the pound) on a trip to Marston Mills. I am quite happy with it. It has princess seams with pockets in those seams and I used an old plastic zipper- the heavy kind as piping in those seams. It is not lined ( I wished I had had Penny's expertise because would have loved a mesh lining.) The vest is red, piping and binding around neck and armholes is black. Then I sewed a patch on: a sort of coat-of-arms thing I bought many years ago in switzerland, also red and black. It is for skiing-to wear over the ski suitWe have had fabulous skiing conditions for the last few weeks (cross-country) and have been out many trips. Now I want to make one for me in black to match my new ski suit. For those of you in warmer climates, the cross-country skiing suit has nothing to do with warmth. It is quite thin and its purpose is to block the wind and breath. But often when you first set out on a trip, it is quite cold so the vest is good to have until you get warmed up. I can try to post a picture if somebody reminds me how I do it.
