Holy COW!!! Were you charging your standard rates for that? The has is fantastic, I can just see Elizabeth Bennett in it.

No. As a lot of it was experimental (working out how best to do the pleats) and fussing with feathers, and this lady does some wonderful advertizong for me by handing out cards and leaflets at events she attends, I do her stuff at a reduced rate.

It's good practice, and the advertizing would cost a bomb! This one is sort os mid 1800's rather than Regency. Mrs Darcy as a granny, perhaps... ;)

That makes perfect sense. I have passed out my cards at dance competitions, and had a few nibbles. We'll see if anyone actually follows through.

As you can tell, I'm no expert on period attire. I just thought it looked a little like some of the hats in Pride and Prejudice.

Sort of granddaughter, so related! It's fun when you look at a line of brimmed hats dated from every 10 years from 1800 onwards: you can see how they evolved. Same with frocks and corsets (though they seem to have speeded up and bread all sorts of new varieties towards the end of the century!)
