My amazing family

My older DD and DGD found me a very special Christmas gift this year:

A Singer class 128 from 1923. Like this, but in better shape:

Gorgeous decals, almost perfect condition, I am just astonished! I learned to sew on a black-with-decals Singer, not as old as this one, but old. Mom's machine was probably new in 1933 or thereabouts. I have wanted to have one for years, just never got a roundtoit. Lots of accessories and feet, and even an extra bobbin! I can hardly wait to clean and lube it, and see if it still works. Not a hand crank or treadle, pretty sure it was converted to electric. It includes the beautiful bentwood case.

I will put pictures of this beauty on my site later.

Happy dance!

It's in wonderful shape, too! It has been fun researching it online.

It really is! I am now considering whether to leave it as is, or do some gentle restoration. Some of the metal parts could use some TLC. Decisions, decisions...
