my holiday gift exchange!

I finished my project for the gift exchange for the little girl. the end result is not a particularly girlie object, but i was inspired by the kids favorite book.

I ended up making a rhino hoodie vest and appliquing a tshirt to match. the only thing girlie about it is the lousy lettuce edge on the sleeves!! I intended to use quilting cotton and satin stitch for the applique but i couldn't find the right grey so when I wandered down the felt aisle i found this FANTASTIC real wool felt which was very rhino. the applique came out quite nice.

rhino hoodie: - i wish i made the ears smaller - it looks like a donkey.

That is really well done! Your DH is a fantastic model, you can see that he was thinking "rhino" -- feel the rhino! LOL! Peeked at some other creations - you are very gifted!

There goes my stereotype about Alaskan men being, well, bachelor types for a good reason. (Does he have an older brother?)

--Karen D. the project looks good, too!

LOL thank you. My husband is a very good sport! I think I can draw but I need to learn to sew better! I should be making clothes with appliques, and not just decorating cheap tees.

Beth, You did a really great job on your gifts. Yes, your husband is more than a good sport, he looks like a fun guy. I wouldn't worry about the kind of sewing your doing, you have to fit the project to the time you have and all projects improve your sewing skills. I know your going on vacation this week so have a warm, sunny trip to OZ. Juno

it is a little bit true. But, one thing for sure is that if you can clean a fish, you can get a hot date.

You're lucky then! My husband is great, and so are most of the rest of the family--it's just that one brother. 'Nuff said.

Ah. Yes, the black sheep. Mikes family is full of black sheep. He's the white one. I wouldnt' take his name when we got married because I didn't want people to know I was related.
