For some years now , i collected pices i cut off soft jeans` , and add
them to a bag , without any plan. When my daughter was 12 she asked me
for a Jeans Quilt , and i made her one , with out ever having made
any. She still has it ,, Now i am not yet decided what will become of
all those leftover ,, but i left them `cooking` long enough , they
should soon become something ..

I made a jeans bag from the leg of jeans and used the flat felled seam for
the long shoulder strap.  Used the pockets and re-sewed them on each side
using a red embroidery stitch.  Also had inside pockets for keys, lipstick,
etc.  A very convient bag!

Oh good they are well aged.  ;)  Here's directions how to make a purse from
the top half http://www.wikihow.com/Make-a-Denim-Purse If you have strips,
you could always "weave" the strips and sew them into yardage.  Then you
could make grocery bags, etc.  Jeans weight denim is just so useful for so
many things.  I have a bag of cast off jeans (outgrown and too worn to be
donated to the thrift store) that I save for patching other jeans.  The
fabric really is too useful for other things to just throw away.

I made someting similar to that several years ago - just intuitively, no
patterns.  I put long handles on it so that it can be carried on the
shoulder, and now it is dh's favorite tote bag - I never get the chance
to use it!!

Sharon , they are aged but originally they are all the soft kind , not
the `pants gross` kind ,
But now you mentioned weaving ,,, HUM ??????? i coul.........d ,
finish my warp now and maybe weave a jeans rag rug ,,,, quite an
idea , bu......t than i will need more material ,,,,
i get a jeans colored face from this hahhahahah , ps i am now in my
jeans age since it Compliments my white [with some pepper] hairs !!!!

I made the circle quilt a few years back and love it. Any of the ideas could
be used on a bag or purse.
