I finished the jacket the other night, but my Christmas dress had to be sewn today... All that is left to do is turn up the hems at the cuffs and the bottom! These will be narrow hems done with the twin needle. Them press it one last (only!) time and FINITO!
This is my el cheapo black panne velvet dress, floor length, Princess cut, and the best of all: it's a UK size 18! Last time I made this pattern I cut it a size 22! It fits perfectly! DH and S&H both like it. I had to do a little mend, where I failed to avoid a tiny hole (one reason I got the fabric cheap was because it had a few small holes in it), but once it's pressed, on crushed black panne velvet, who's to see!
You will get to see pix of me in the jacket and dress once the hems are fixed (tomorrow), and I can get DH to take some.
