need a part for an old American Home sewing machine

I have an american home, model no. 1804-B, serial no. 0922. there was an little wire thingy sticking out of the tension knob contraption that you're supposed to loop the thread through when threading the machine. when it broke, I was told there was no way to replace it.

does anyone here have that part? are you willing to sell it? I'd buy other parts along with it or even a whole machine of the same make and model.

They know the sources for parts for older machines. You may need to buy an entire tension unit, or even a parts machine. It's also possible that you can get a spring at the hardware store and modify it a little with pliers. Good luck.
