Needle felting

I must confess that I am deeply curious about this. Has anyone here tried it? Anyone have a machine that does it?? What do you think of it??

I was in a sewing shop recently and two women were checking out a felter, with the possible intent of one purchasing it. They seemed to really enjoy the results and it was nice. I don't think I need or want one at the moment though. Emily

Thanks, Erin! I am glad to know Babylock has one.........the others I have looked at on the internet seem like "toys"........this looks like a real machine............I am a sewist rather than a real designer, but I have a pinch of creativity! Besides, I have a friend who paints and designs.....I think we would make great partners..........

That's the machine I saw; it looks like so much fun to use and I am certain any textile artist could find lots of use for it. Emily

That reminds me of one of my DN's husband. For years, she begged him for a sewing machine and he kept telling her "No." He had supposedly been taught that to give a loved one a tool with an electrical cord meant extra work for the person. Finally, he gave her one about 2 years ago, some 23 years after their marriage. Now that he has seen how much she enjoys sewing, especially for the new grand daughter(born on Halloween), he's decided to give her an embroidery machine for Christmas. I am thrilled for her and she is ecstatic. They don't live near by, so I will have to wait till I see them at the family get-together December 30th to get all the details. Emily

I guess he wouldn't think I should give my DH a vacuum cleaner. Too late. I just gave him a new one to replace the one I gave him Valentine's Day a few years ago.
